I'm trying to look and feel for drops when shit starts popping off, but if they're there I'm not noticing them. There are a quite a few Switch games I have bought and consider unplayable due to their unstable framerate. I think I'm fairly sensitive to framerate issues. That was my biggest worry with the game, and based on the first zone I'm happy to say I'm having no complaints. Right off the bat, it's native res and the framerate feels great. My Switch is solely a portable system for me, so all of this is undocked. I'm focusing on technical impressions, since I already know I love the game itself. That's the extent of what I've done so far. I replayed a couple levels to chase higher scores, unlocked some codex stuff, and looked through the options. I finished the first zone solo, then went back and did all of it again in co-op. I think Paz was feeling confident, because he said I could post impressions as long as it's not a review. I just played an hour of the Switch version thanks to a very generous developer. I was past that by the time I beat the first boss, which doesn't take too long. Shoot, stab, burn, and explode your way to survival in this top down shooter RPG.Click to shrink. In the EX Options, you can buy an AI partner mode for 1,000 credits. Giant insects, reptiles, alien, and more are after you. It loses its lustre rather quickly if you’re playing solo, but grab a few friends and Crimsonland becomes a couch play charnel house thanks to that oh-so-moreish Survival mode. So ugly, yes, but incredibly addictive nonetheless. Those game-changing perks are unlocked after each wave, and when added to the new four-player setup and twin-stick controls Crimsonland becomes all kinds of crazy. While the remaster includes multiple twists on the basic “don’t die” ideal (with an extra one just for XO), they all pale in comparison to the returning big daddy. All those perks and weapons feed straight back into the best part of Crimsonland - Survival mode.
